Introducing: The 2052 Collection

"Read nonfiction to raise your floor. Read fiction to raise your ceiling."

Humans are driven by stories.

Dry lessons bore while myths excite and amaze. We instinctively remember vivid stories that stir our emotions and captivate our imaginations.

Where are the stories in crypto?

We mostly hear simple stories of riches: SammySolana bagged up SOL at $3, sold the top, and now lives in a quaint 12 bedroom, 15 bath house on the water in Miami.  BoredBobby minted 15 BAYC, sold his $APE at peak FOMO, and now drives the kiddos to school while they’re cramped in the back of his McLaren.

If I only scroll Twitter for another half hour, maybe I too will find the next Fidenza!

Hoo boy I can just smell that weeklong vacation in the Ritz-Carlton on Oahu through MetaMask!

These stories do not captivate in the truest sense of the word. They represent a façade of what we think will make us happy. Tales of riches are the cheap dopamine of life. Stories should help us contextualize our choices to lead a better life, not lead us astray to eat the marshmallow.

Which is why I'm proud to introduce the 2052 Collection: a collection of short, fictional vignettes which all take place in 2052.

Each vignette is a brief story that will force you to consider how you will see your choices today in 30 years. Some may make you laugh. Some may make you think. Others may make you feel guilty.

Will you be proud of how you spent these critical years? Are you going to feel ashamed of the decisions you made? Is the process you claim to be so virtuous and democratizing simply the next step in ultra-financialized consumerism?

There will be 30 vignettes, representing one for each year from 2022-2052.

Each unique vignette will be a 1/1 NFT, minted on fx{text}.

Subscribers to the blog will always be the first alerted before links are posted anywhere else.

If you’re reading this on October 25th, 2022, you might be lucky enough to collect the first story. It was just minted and is on sale for 17.5 tez, right here.
